Understanding Chakra Bracelets and Stones
Many people have begun adjusting their lives to fit in with the spiritual practice of chakra, as it brings balance within the body. It’s said that there are seven chakras that we need to keep in check, and to do this we use special chakra stones. These stones can be used as decorations, meditational healing tools, or worn in jewelry such as chakra bracelets. Each stone will differ in color and material and represents each of the seven chakras. Before you can start your chakra-balancing journey, you need to understand the seven chakras and decide on which stones are right for you.
The Seven Chakras
Root Chakra
Found at the base of the spine, this chakra is associated with stability, grounding, and physical identity. A blocked root chakra can result in physical and emotional issues such as arthritis, constipation, and emotional insecurity. These stones are usually red and made out of materials such as bloodstone, tiger’s eye, fire agate, and black tourmaline. If you want to feel more grounded both emotionally and physically, you’ll want to have a root chakra stone in your collection.
Sacral Chakra
Just above the pelvic bone, your sacral chakra holds our emotions, powers, and pleasures. If this chakra is blocked, you can feel a lowered sense of self-worth, specifically relating to your creativity, pleasure, and sexuality. Physically, a blocked sacral chakra can manifest as lower back pain, urinary tract infections, and impotency. To unblock this chakra, you will need to add an orange stone to your chakra bracelet, made out of citrine, carnelian, moonstone, or coral.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Yellow stones made from malachite, calcite, citrine, or topaz are what represent the solar plexus chakra. You can find this chakra in the upper abdominal and stomach area. When blocked, you can develop digestive issues such as heartburn, ulcers, and eating disorders. The solar plexus chakra is also known as the chakra of our personal power, which relates to our self-esteem and confidence.
Heart Chakra
Unsurprisingly, this chakra is located in the center of the chest. Blockages to the heart chakra can show within your actions - some put others first, to their own detriment. With the heart chakra out of alignment, you can feel lonely, isolated, and insecure. Green stones made from materials like rose quartz, jade, and green calcite are most effective in restoring balance to your body.
Throat Chakra
Located in the throat, this chakra is all about communication. Throat, mouth, and gum issues can arise from a blocked throat chakra, along with communication problems such as gossiping, speaking your mind, and dominating conversations. Chakra bracelets targeting the throat chakra use blue lapis lazuli, turquoise, and aquamarine stones.
Third eye Chakra
Also known as the brow chakra, it can be found between the eyes and affects your imagination and intuition. You can expect headaches, along with hearing and sight issues when this chakra is blocked. Indigo stones are best for balancing out third eye chakras - amethyst, purple fluorite, and black obsidian are common stones used in chakra bracelets focusing on the third eye chakra.
Crown Chakra
This chakra can be represented through purple or white stones such as clear quartz, amethyst, and diamond. The Crown chakra is at the very top of the head and is linked to all other chakras. It’s considered the chakra of enlightenment and represents our connection to our life’s purpose and spirituality. Those with a blocked crown chakra may seem narrow-minded, skeptical, or stubborn.
